Part Overview
Now that you're comfortable in the Flash authoring environment, it's time to see what you can do when you move beyond basic timelines and start architecting and controlling content with ActionScript. Chapter 24 introduces the basic syntax of ActionScript code so that you understand why all those brackets, dots, and quote marks are used. In Chapter 25 you learn how to control methods and properties of MovieClip objects. If you thought animating Movie Clips was fun, wait until you start to apply more sophisticated control to multiple elements with ActionScript! Chapter 26 covers using functions and arrays, two of the most crucial techniques for organizing and controlling dynamic data. Chapter 27 takes you to the next level of Movie Clip control with an overview of how to detect collisions, and how to use the ColorTransform, Sound, and PrintJob classes to control dynamic movie elements.
