Treo Essentials
IN THIS CHAPTER
One of my early frustrations with mobile phones was entering contact information. I had already been using a contact manager on my desktop computer for years, so I had my contacts in electronic form, but I had no way to move them to my mobile phone. One of the obvious but sometimes overlooked features of Treo devices is its contact management capability, which allows you to take your electronic Rolodex with you on the go. The Contacts application on your Treo serves as a contact manager that keeps track of all your contacts, including their email addresses, phone numbers, snail mail addresses, photos, birthdays, and any other information you'd like to associate with them. Although you can populate the contact list solely through creating contacts on your device, it's a good idea to synchronize contacts from a desktop contact manager, such as Palm Desktop or Microsoft Outlook. Regardless of how you build your contact list, the Contacts application gives you lots of flexibility in managing contacts. |
