As with any mobile device, security is an important issue with Treo devices. More specifically, phone security is important in that you might want to prevent your phone from being used to make expensive calls if it falls into the wrong hands. Or maybe you need to let someone borrow your Treo to make an emergency call, and you want to make sure the person doesn't abuse the situation. Regardless of your motives, a feature known as Phone Lock makes it possible to limit calls made with your device. When Phone Lock is enabled, your phone can be used only to make emergency calls, such as 911, unless a special lock code is entered. You can also add up to three more emergency numbers that can be dialed when the phone is locked. This makes Phone Lock an ideal feature for allowing a friend or family member to dial only a few preset numbers and nothing more. The Phone Lock feature gives you a degree of security in terms of controlling how your Treo is used to make calls. Although you might find it somewhat of an inconvenience on a day-to-day basis, it's a great option to have when other people have access to your device. |
