Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 Studio Techniques
B1uilding on the foundation of the Fast Color Corrector, the Three-Way Color Corrector can adjust color values not only for an entire image, but also within the three tonal ranges of your video image: shadows, midtones, and highlights. Adjusting within individual tonal ranges enables you to add very subtle and effective color shifts in order to change the look of your image. The Three-Way Color Corrector also enables you to select an exact color range and apply corrections selectively to that range, a process called secondary color correction. This chapter's three lessons will guide you through the Three-Way Color Corrector effect and show off a few tricks. First, you'll learn how to white balance, adjust your tonal ranges, and then apply a selective color cast to the adjusted tonal range. The second lesson focuses on how to create and manipulate a secondary color correction, while the final lesson demonstrates how to take the Secondary Color Correction effect beyond the typical application: You'll add color to only a select portion of a color image that was converted to black and white. Before you jump into the lessons, you should first take a deeper look at the Three-Way Color Corrector's workings. |
