Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 Studio Techniques
The most important things to remember in regards to the Timeline panel are what you are viewing and which mode you are in. If you are editing audio clip keyframes and you are set to display track keyframes, you will start hitting your head against the wall! Don't do that; just look and see if the track has a gray bar on top. If it does, then you are working on the track level. Let's say you find that your real-time preview responsiveness is not good enough when displaying a title that has motion and effects on top of a video clip that you are editing. In this case, you can turn off the output of the title track, tweak the edit beneath it and then, when you want to see the title, turn its track back on. The last thing to remember is to use transitions to fade both audio and video in and out. Although it is a much different workflow than for former versions of Premiere, it makes the adjustments and workflow much faster to drop the cross dissolve and keep going. The basics are behind you; now it's time to edit. In the next chapter, you will explore dragging, dropping, moving, and editing with the Monitor and Timeline panels. |
