  • All .NET Compact Framework applications should be packaged and distributed in a CAB file.

  • You can use Visual Studio .NET to build your CAB file.

  • You can also use the CAB Wizard to build your CAB file.

  • The CAB Wizard requires a configuration file, which you can edit, to build the CAB file.

  • You can distribute your application four different ways:

    From a Web site

    From a file share

    From a memory card

    Through ActiveSync

  • Distributing your application through ActiveSync requires an initialization ( .ini ) file and a desktop setup application.
