Professional C# 2005 with .NET 3.0

Message Queuing 3.0 is part of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Windows 2000 was delivered with Message Queuing 2.0, which didn’t have support for the HTTP protocol and multicast messages. Message Queuing 3.0 can be installed as part of the operating system. With Windows XP using Add or Remove Programs, a separate section within Windows Components exists where Message Queuing options can be selected. With the Message Queuing options, the following components can be selected:

When Message Queuing is installed, the Message Queuing service (see Figure 39-4) must be started. This service reads and writes messages and communicates with other Message Queuing servers to route messages across the network.
