25 Summarize Comments in a PDF

After reviewers have added their comments to your PDF document and returned it to you, you need to combine all the reviewer comments into your original PDF document.

1.

Open the Review Document and Merge Comments

From the File menu, select the Open command to locate and open the PDF document that was used for the review.

From the File menu, select Comments, Migrate Comments . The Migrate Comments dialog box appears and prompts you to enter the reviewer's returned document. Click the Choose button to locate the document and click the OK button. This merges the reviewer's comments to your original review document. To add other reviewers' comments to your document, repeat this step until all the comments have been added to your document.

2.

View the Results

To view the comments, click the Comments tab located on the left side of the document window. This opens the Comments pane and displays all the comments in your document. Comments are indicated on your document by a number of different comment icons, such as Post-It-type icons, highlighted or marked text, a stamp icon, or even a sound clip icon.

You can sort comments by author, color, check mark status, date, page, status by person, or type of comment. The color of a comment indicates the type of comment it is, whether it is a note, highlighted, deleted (Cross-out), a stamp, or an underlined type comment. The check mark status can be used to keep track of comments already read or responded to, or it can indicate anything you want it to.
