43. Change a Bookmark's Destination See Also 44 Create a Bookmark to a Different Document As you make changes to a PDF file, you might find that an existing bookmark no longer points to the correct location. Or you might simply have made a mistake when creating a bookmark in the first place. In either case, it is far easier to point an existing bookmark to a new location than to delete the bookmark and create a new one. Changing a bookmark's destination is a simple matter of navigating to the correct destination and resetting the bookmark to point to this new location. | 1. | Navigate to a New Destination In the document pane, go to the page, magnification level, and page location to which you want this bookmark to point. If you want the bookmark to point to an entire page, go to that page and set the magnification to Fit Page . If you want the bookmark to point to a magnified version of a graphic, go to the appropriate page, increase the magnification level, and scroll the page to center the graphic in the document pane. | | 2. | Reset the Destination Right-click (Windows) or Ctrl -click (Mac OS) the bookmark whose destination you want to change; then select Set Destination from the context menu. | | 3. | Confirm the Destination Click the Yes button in the confirmation dialog box. The bookmark now points to the destination displayed in the document pane. To test this, navigate to a different page, magnification level, and page location and then click the bookmark you just created to confirm that it works as intended. | |
