Summary

This chapter discussed the use of additional CallManager management tools, such as CiscoWorks ITEM, SNMP, and syslog. CiscoWorks ITEM is a suite of tools to monitor devices in an IP telephony network. SNMP and syslog are standards-based monitoring and alerting protocols used across nearly all Cisco platforms.

Cisco CallManager dependency records help in determining which devices are associated with other devices. The Password Changer tool can change passwords of CCMSysUser, CCMAdministrator, IPMASysUser, and Directory Manager with an easy-to-use interface. The Dialed Number Analyzer tool helps diagnose, tune, and trace dial plans. QRT helps administrators identify and resolve problems in an IP telephony network. End users can use QRT to send errors and call information to the administrator.
