About the Companion Web Site
This publication includes a developers toolbox. The toolbox contains ready-to-use software, source code, and other development-related materials. These files complement the publication and aid in the teaching process. The materials will be used to build the various projects in the book and can also serve as a model for new development projects. To receive this free supplemental content, you need to become a member of "IBM Press" Web site and register your book. After youve joined as a member, enter the books ISBN to complete the registration process. The supplemental content can then be retrieved from the "My Registered Books" page.
Become a Member of the Companion Web Site
Access to the Web site is simple. You need to join as member and register your purchased book in order to download the files. You also need an Internet connection in order to access the supplemental files.
Step 1. | Access the IBM Press Web site. You must join the Web site as a member in order to continue with the process. If you are already a member, log in and continue with the next section, "Downloading and Unpacking the Developers Toolbox." Step 2. | Start the membership process. Specify your email address and click the Sign Up Now button located in the "New to IBM Press" section. A confirmation email will be sent to you. To continue with the membership account setup, open the email and click the continuation link.

Step 3. | Complete the membership process. Specify your first and last name, user name, password, and other required information. Next, read the privacy policy and select "I have read and understand the IBM Press privacy policy." Click the Submit button to complete the membership process.

Register the Book and Download the Developers Toolbox
As a member of the Web site, you can download and unpack the developers toolbox. All toolbox files are bundled into a single, compressed data file. This enables all sample databases, project files, and ready-to-use source code to be downloaded at one time. The file can then be unpacked into any directory thats accessible to the Lotus Notes client. This section describes how to download and unpack the toolbox onto your computer workstation.
Step 1. | After you are registered, log in to display the home page. Use the login userID and password created in the previous section.

Step 2. | Register the publication. Go to: http://www.ibmpressbooks.com/bookstore/register.asp.

Step 3. | Enter and submit the ISBN: 0132214482

Step 4. | Update your member profile information and click the Submit button.

Step 5. | To complete the book registration process, you will be prompted to answer a question pertaining to the publication. Enter the response and click Submit. The "Lotus Notes Developers Toolbox" should now display in the list of registered books. |
Step 6. | Next, locate and download the developers toolbox. In the registration area, go to "My Registered Books". Next to the book, click on the link "Access to protected content for this book" to access the file downloads and save it to a local directory.

Step 7. | After being retrieved, unpack the file into a local directory using Microsoft Windows Explorer, WinZip, or similar tool. The directory must be accessible to your Lotus Notes client.
