Before we get into the many details of understanding and building service-oriented solutions, let's first introduce some basic concepts and establish a range of associated issues.

 

How case studies are used: After we cover the fundamental parts of a primitive SOA, we demonstrate some basic service-oriented concepts by providing an introductory explanation of how one of RailCo's legacy applications could be redesigned as a service-oriented solution.
