The first and perhaps most important step along our SOA lifecycle is an analysis of what exactly the services in our SOA should consist of. This and the next chapter introduce the fundamental aspects of this project phase by establishing a formal service modeling process and raising a series of concerns that need to be addressed before we proceed to the design stage.
