Calculate the Difference Between Two Dates
Excel stores dates as sequential numbers. This is especially useful if you want to calculate the number of days between two datesfor example, the number of days in a payroll period. Use Excel Help to learn how to calculate the difference between two dates.

Start Excel. In the Type a question for help box, type date and then press

In the Search Results task pane, click Calculate the difference between two dates. In the upper right corner of the Help window, click Show All, and then review the information about calculating the number of days, months, or years between two dates.
