Activity 3.5. Opening a Main Document for a Mail Merge

You can open the main document you created in the Mail Merge process to edit and produce the mailing labels again at any time.

1.

Open the file Mailing_Labels_Firstname_Lastname that you completed in the previous activity. An information box displays, referring to the linked data source used in the merge and asking whether you want to insert the data in your document. Click Yes.

On the Tools menu, point to Letters and Mailings, and then click Mail Merge.

The Mail Merge task pane opens at Step 3 of 6. From here you can move to any step and make changes to the merge fields, add recipients, and perform other editing tasks. Only the main document allows you to do thisthe saved merge document does not.

Close the file, and then Close Word.

End

This integration project is now complete.
