C and E When configuring time-of-day routing, you must apply a time schedule to the partition containing the DNs you want to restrict by time of day. You must also configure the partition for the correct time zone (or choose to use the local time zone of the phone placing the call). |
2. |
B You can apply time-of-day calling restrictions only to the calling party through a calling search space. Because of this, the time period should be configured to allow calls from 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday and the time zone of user A. |
3. |
B, D, and E Any DN-assigned item can be assigned to a partition. Phones and gateways are not assigned DNs; phone lines, route patterns, and translation patterns are assigned DNs (directory number is used synonymously with phone line). |
4. |
A The correct order of Class of Service configuration is as follows: DNs are placed in partitions; partitions are placed in calling search spaces; and calling search spaces are assigned to the calling device. |
5. |
A, B, and C If you have assigned a calling search space to both the IP Phone and its directory number, the calling search spaces are combined where the directory number takes precedence. Route patterns are not calling devices and cannot be assigned a calling search space. |
6. |
B CallManager processes the call by looking through the partitions in the calling search space from the top of the list to the bottom. To save on processing time, you should place the more frequently used partitions at the top of the user list. You can also use the ordered processing feature to implement access-list-like calling restrictions. |
7. |
D Time periods are created first and added to time schedules, which are then assigned to a partition. |

A CallManager will allow you to create identical, duplicate route patterns provided you have assigned them to different partitions. Likewise, you can only assign a route pattern to one partition. In this example, you must create two sets of PSTN route patterns. One set should be added to the partition restricted by the 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. time schedule. The other set should be added to a partition not restricted by a time schedule. A calling search space containing the restricted partition is then assigned to the users limited to 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PSTN calling and a calling search space containing the unrestricted partition is assigned to the users able to reach the PSTN anytime. |
9. |
C Time-of-day restrictions can only be applied to partitions. These partitions are then added to a user's calling search space, at which point the CallManager applies them. |

D Time periods allow you to configure recurring days by selecting either "Repeat Every Week From..." or "Repeat Every Year On...". In this case, we would choose to Repeat Every Year On December 25th. |
