The icon of a video camera on the Cisco IP Phone status line means that the Cisco IP Phone is configured to support video. This occurs when the administrator enables video capabilities in the CallManager Administration utility.

Cisco requires you to plug the PC with Cisco VT Advantage client software into the access port of the IP phone. This allows the IP phone to recognize the client PC (and installed software) and enable video capabilities for incoming and outgoing calls.

The Cisco Audio Session Tunnel is a Cisco proprietary protocol used to signal between the VT Advantage software and IP phone. RTP is used to stream video.

Only the Cisco 7940, 7960, and 7970 IP Phones (and later) can support video.

Both the PC port and Retry Video Call as Audio settings are enabled by default. You must enable the video capabilities of the IP phone to support VT Advantage.
